Gamescom 2024 has been an absolute whirlwind of excitement, and today’s Into the Infinite showcase was no exception.
It was packed with announcements that ranged from exciting updates for Dune Awakening to completely new games being showcased. This event had something for everyone, and it might be a little overwhelming to keep up with. Here’s a quick and easy recap of everything that was announced at the showcase.
Age of Empires Mobile
Age of Empires Mobile is set to bring epic medieval war strategy to your fingertips on October 17. Developed by TiMi Studio Group and World’s Edge, this game will launch on the Apple App Store and Google Play, offering large-scale siege battles that bring hundreds of players together on one screen.
Aloft
Funcom gave us a glimpse of the vast, floating islands of Aloft, an innovative co-op sandbox survival game set to hit Early Access this fall.
The latest trailer showcased the Ecosystem Restoration feature, where players can rejuvenate low-vitality islands by planting trees, bringing in animals, and cleansing corruption.
Arena Breakout: Infinite
MoreFun Studios is bringing a tactical extraction shooter experience PC. The game is currently in its Early Access phase, with three maps—Farm, Valley, and Armory—and a ton of new quality-of-life updates, including 48 weapons, for players to get their hands on.
Command & Conquer: Legions
Level Infinite dropped a brand-new CG trailer for the new Command & Conquer game, featuring a threat you might recognize. Players will have to brace themselves for a Red Alert season when Legions drops, so brace yourself for some intense battles!
DeathSprint 66
As the release of DeathSprint 66 gradually approaches on 12 September 2024, Secret Mode and Sumo Digital have released a Behind the Speed Video that showcases some cool unseen footage from its futuristic racer, plus some great insight into its lore, track design, and gameplay mechanics.
Dune Awakening
Dune Awakening is shaping up to be an epic survival experience on Arrakis. Creative Director Joel Bylos detailed the game’s core mechanics: Survive, Expand, and Control.
Starting from nothing, players will have to learn the ways of the desert to accomplish anything in the unforgiving sands of Arrakis. You’ll be able to build and expand your base, either alone or with friends.
Making allies will help in the long run anyway—controlling Spice is the name of the game, and being able to navigate other factions and players and get them on your side to strengthen your position will be invaluable.
Exoborne
Sharkmob’s Creative Director, Petter Mannerfelt, took the center stage at Into the Infinite to talk about the team’s vision for the game while introducing some cool new mechanics that will be present in the title. Expect to see some awesome dynamic movement and verticality thanks to the Exo-Rigs’ abilities.
Goddess of Victory NIKKE
Level Infinite just made one of the most exciting announcements for NIKKE in quite a long time.
The game will have an official collaboration with Evangelion, bringing characters Asuke, Rei, Mari, and Misato to the game, along with a new Boss from the anime.
GTFO
The Final Chapter for 10 Chambers’ FPS horror shooter is finally on Steam! Steam. With over 80 expeditions, 90 rewards, and 50 weapons and tools, this complete edition is a must-play for horror shooter enthusiasts.
If that wasn’t enough, the trailer teased the studio’s upcoming co-op heist shooter, Den of Wolves.
Nightingale
Realms Rebuilt is set to be the biggest update yet for this gaslamp fantasy open-world survival game. Launching on September 12, the free update includes a new handcrafted campaign, immersive dungeons, boss battles, and many community-requested features.
Parcel Corps
From Indie developer Billy Goat Entertainment and publisher Secret Mode, Parcel Corps is bringing the fast-paced world of bicycle couriers to life in its latest reveal. Set in the vibrant streets of New Island, players will join one of three rival firms vying to be the best in the business.
Soulframe
Through its new title, Digital Extremes offers a glimpse into the world of Alca, where players will embark on a journey to heal a fractured world. This free-to-play fantasy adventure takes players on a quest to restore the land from the clutches of Ode’n reign.
Tarisland
Level Infinite revealed exciting details about the cross-platform MMORPG’s first season, launching in October. Players will explore the Scardino Icefield, face new raids, and encounter the enigmatic Frost Dragon faction.
Warframe
Digital Extreme takes fans on a nostalgic trip back to 1999 with a teaser for the game’s upcoming free update. Players will return to Earth in 1999 to uncover secrets in a grungy, alternate world. The update, set for a winter release, includes the Lotus Eaters prologue quest and plenty of extra goodies, including the much-anticipated Sevagoth Prime Access.
Warhammer Vermintide 2
The first Open Beta for Warhammer Vermintide 2 – Versus is now live on Steam, offering an asymmetric PvP and PvE experience set in the Warhammer universe.
Players can engage in thrilling 4v4 battles, alternating between the iconic Ubersreik Five Heroes and the cunning Skaven.
