The Gamescom 2023 trailer for Starfield was packed with stunning visuals and exhilarating gameplay that left fans in absolute awe over what they were witnessing on screen. The immersive footage transported the audience into the world of the upcoming video game, and it is safe to say that Bethesda completely knocked it out of the park with its presentation. From details about new planets, intriguing creatures, and exciting weapons, Starfield looks like a gem.

After the trailer, the game’s director, Todd Howard, made an appearance at Gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live to talk about Bethesda’s upcoming title in more detail. While discussing the inspiration behind creating the new world of Starfield, Howard said that, like so many gamers, he also looked up at the sky and dreamt of traveling to outer space. Bethesda wanted to give players “complete freedom” as they explore the galaxy, calling it a “dream game.”

Continuing his presentation at Gamescom 2023, Howard said that players will be able to create their own character in Starfield to empower them as they set off on a new adventure. Each adventure starts as you join a constellation, which Howard described as “NASA joins Indiana Jones,” while also saying that certain “artefacts” play a big role as well. That is all he had to say about the upcoming Bethesda game, leaving further details up for surprise and telling the audience that he “can’t wait” for them to finally play the game.
