Many gamers have been shocked by the announcement that Starfield will need a specific set of requirements to run. These specific requirements will be that players will need AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 which is an upscaling tech that will be used in Bethesda’s upcoming game.

The reason players are shocked and most likely annoyed at this reveal is the fact that anyone who uses an Nvidia or Intel graphics card will not be able to play Starfield to the highest possible quality. This has gained a lot of surprise from fans as even though the FSR 2.0 is still quite a powerful graphics card, it still isn’t as good as the DLSS which is provided by Nvidia especially the DLSS 3.0 which is so strong that it can generate an entire frame rather than just pixels which provides a much better FPS for players.

So far, this news has many fans worried that they would not be able to play Starfield to its highest potential, but this could change sometime soon as this reveal has been brought to players through a reveal of the game’s files, which shows that only the AMD system will be available. However, this could change as more files could be added over time or it could change after release to broaden the games reach.

Why is Bethesda only using these requirements in Starfield?

There are many thoughts as to why Bethesda will only be allowing the AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0, and the common belief is that there has been an exclusive deal between Bethesda and AMD, and many people feel that this exclusive deal was more prioritised towards Starfield. Players will be pretty wary about this issue regarding AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 and whether or not they can play Starfield even if they don’t have a matching system, but the good news is even if you have an AMD, Nvidia, or Intel you will still be able to use the FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0.

Right now, there isn’t a lot more information to go on regarding the GPU and CPU of Starfield until either more game files are released or until the game comes out and players are able to experience the game themselves; what do you think about this information regarding Starfield and it’s specific requirements to run it? Will this affect how you play Starfield, or are you already prepared? Let us know in the comments what you think!
