The ‘Evolution‘ theory originates from the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc, where students from Tokyo Jujutsu High’s sister school based in Kyoto would come and participate in different rounds of Jujutsu Battles. This is the Arc where Yuji meets Todo for the first time. Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen has always shown immense growth in short periods, making the learning curve of a sorcerer almost look like a joke.
This fact is practically observed during his time with Todo in the aforementioned Arc. It was during this short period that Yuji learned so much in a short amount of time, beginning with how well he was able to manage his cursed energy and its flow in his body after learning it from Todo.
He was able to master the ability of Black Flash and use it like no other sorcerer ever has in the history of Jujutsu. Considering how Gege Akutami likes to have long build-ups for reveals in the series and that words like “devour” and “consume” were used while Yuji was learning, fans speculate that his technique is to evolve more easily and become more powerful in a minuscule amount of time.
Another basic instance is when Yuji straight-up devours Sukuna’s finger to become more powerful. While it is true the fingers strengthen Sukuna more than him, there is no doubt he derives power from them too. Unfortunately, Devour seems to remain as a trump card, only to be used during crucial times in battles.
What Might Be Ryomen Sukuna’s Cursed Technique And How It Compares To Yuji’s Secret Technique
As mentioned before, the creator and author of the series does not have a habit of revealing much about the major character’s techniques and abilities. However, through what is shown already, watchers and readers alike can predict what might be the King of Curses cursed technique.
The most basic prediction for his techniques comes from his slash attacks. It is called ‘Dismantle and Cleave‘, and uses cursed energy to send out invisible slashes that cut through anything and everything. This is shown to be his most used ability in the franchise, and many believe it is his cursed technique too.
Apart from plot armor, Yuji Itadori can pose some serious risks to the antagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen. For the most part, his Devour technique remains unexplored, meaning there is a high possibility that he will not only match Sukuna in terms of strength soon but can also copy his exact techniques if that’s what needs to be done in the end.
