The latest chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen manga focused on the fights between the sorcerers and the King of the Curses, Sukuna. While there are many major sorcerers like Yuta Okkotsu, and Maki Zenin who have faced Sukuna, none of them can defeat the antagonist. Even Yuji Itadori, the main character, is not able to save Megumi Fushiguro yet.
As the list of the sorcerers is on the verge of its end, fans are losing hope of seeing The King of the Curses being defeated. Many jujutsu Kaisen fans are even anticipating that Gege Akutami might bring a new twist to the battle which could change the tone of the manga. And there is only one character left who could change the scenario of the battle. And that character is Nobara Kugisaki.
A recent update about the character description of Yuji Itadori has given rise to a theory that states that Nobara Kugisaki might return to the center stage and enter the battle against Sukuna. And she could very well be able to defeat The King of the Curses along with Yuji Itadori, thus ending the prolonged battle.
Nobara Kugisaki’s Chair Analogy
During the Shibuya Incident arc, when Nobara gets hit by the final blow from Mahito, a brief flashback of her life is shown in the series. During this flashback, a bunch of chairs are seen in a white background, where some of the chairs are filled with some important characters from her life and there are some empty chairs too.
Kugisaki’s mental state is reflected in this empty room filled with seats. Even though she had very defined expectations and standards for the people she encountered, the people she encountered in jujutsu high managed to readily become a part of her life as she envisioned some characters sitting among the empty chairs she had constructed.
She claims she doesn’t regret leaving home and that it wasn’t all that bad because the right people found her despite her walls and standards and sat on those chairs, even though there were still some empty seats. However, as she is about to die, the chair on which she is sitting falls and is left empty.
Theory Claims Nobara Could End The Prolonged Battle With Sukuna
According to a recent update shared by @GO_Jover on X(Formerly Twitter), Yuji Itadori’s character description has got a new update. It states: “He lives to fulfill his role. He wants to leave Kugisaki’s seat open.” This new update has brought forward a theory that explains Nobara will be the final sorcerer, who along with Yuji will defeat Sukuna and save Megumi.
If Nobara’s seat remains empty, there has been no replacement, and hope has not been lost. Sukuna’s battle has dragged on far too long. However, if he is to face practically every sorcerer, Nobara has a good probability of returning. It hasn’t been established as of yet whether she is living or dead.
There is a good likelihood that Nobara will return to take her seat if it is empty. Nobara is one of the most formidable characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. She was capable of challenging Mahito and nearly defeating him. Her reappearance may signal the beginning of Sukuna’s downfall as well as its end. Also, as the story starts with Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara, they are bound to be the ones who will stop Sukuna, thus bringing a full-circle moment.
