Attending any Rolling Stones show with an all-access pass was really a dream come true for Owen Wilson. He first explained, how he got his hands on the prestigious backstage passes,
“I went to see the Rolling Stones in Argentina,–and I was kinda friendly with some of the band, and my friend was really good friends with Mick Jagger. And we got these special laminates, kind of all-access, that were good for the rest of your life, that we got presented with.”
It turns out that when Owen Wilson visited Argentina for the Rolling Stones concert, he and his friend had connections within the band. His friend was a direct acquaintance of the legendary Mick Jagger himself. Consequently, they were gifted these special backstage passes that would grant them access to numerous exclusive privileges for the rest of their lives.
His Life Time Passes Got Revoked After the He Distracted Mick Jagger on Stage
However, it turned out that not everything was permissible with the passes, as Wilson overstepped the boundaries. Excited to explore the privileges that came with the lifetime pass, he decided to push his limits. He claimed,
“‘I’m gonna walk over here and see if anybody stops me,–And no one would stop me any place, and I ended up right at this place where I could look over and see Mick Jagger on the stage, right there.”
He further continued,
“And then all of a sudden, he bolts, during ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash,’ and comes running down, and it turns out where I was was part of the stage a little bit, so I just sort of froze and tried to be inconspicuous… And then someone came running over, [screaming], “Get out of here! Move! You’re not supposed to be here!’”
The moment genuinely caught him by surprise, and he eventually discovered what the ultimate limit of violating the terms and conditions on the passes was. He further continued,
“I go to bed that night still thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, that was kind of a gnarly experience.’ And then I get a call the next morning from Mick’s security team: ‘Do you have that laminate?’ ‘Yes, I still have it.’ ‘Okay, we’re gonna come over and pick it up.’”
Later, he disclosed that his all-white attire ended up being an even greater distraction for the singer onstage. While it was unfortunate that his passes got revoked, on the brighter side, he now has a fun story with Mick Jagger to boast about during interviews.
