The MMA star has also attacked former WWE CEO Vince McMahon on multiple occasions. In Our Right, Rousey recounted an incident when she was still in the ring where she had to fight to get the terminology of the women’s division in the WWE right. She mentioned that she came under fire from McMahon for not mentioning ‘Women’s’ in the ‘SmackDown Women’s Title’ in the ring.

“‘When the men start calling it a men’s title, I’ll start calling it a women’s,’ I said. I raised the issue with Triple H…He later told me he had mentioned it to Vince, who was appalled. ‘Get out here with that woke bullsh*t,’ Vince had told him, ‘We’re going to call it the women’s title because they’re fu*king women.’”

The star also mentioned how despite Triple H agreeing with her point of view, he was powerless as Vince McMahon immediately dismissed it.

Vince McMahon had a huge hand in bringing the WWE to where it is. However, the former CEO has come under fire on multiple occasions for his conduct off the ring and recently stepped down as the chief of both WWE and TKO Group Holdings after he was accused of abuse s*xual assault, and trafficking by a former employee (via NBC News).

Ronda Rousey has since been attacking the former CEO for his treatment of women wrestlers in the WWE and has mentioned how the ‘Divas’ were never given their due respect. In an excerpt from her memoir Our Fight, Rousey compared McMahon to Star Wars’ Emperor Palpatine and mentioned how he wished he controlled women’s rights.

Rousey even recounted how the divas were initially only recruited for their physical appearances and were overly s*xualized. She also mentioned how a social media backlash resulted in the divas finally getting a chance to show their prowess in a professional ring. However, it had a catch,

“It was only after WWE was basically arm-barred into it, following a global social media backlash to #givedivasachance after Divas were given a total of thirty seconds— less time than it takes most people to read this paragraph—for a nationally televised tag match. Four women were given less time to collectively wrestle than every single man on the roster got for his intro music alone.”

She reportedly called out the sexist practices of WWE and even exposed the hypocrisy of the promotion in her memoir. Rousey also revealed how there was a casting couch culture in the WWE and that many people in power had been privy to it.
