Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is the latest PlayStation first-party title to grace the PC platform and players are enamored with what Sucker Punch Productions was able to do on the PS4. Trophy hunters are thrilled that the game has one feature that even God of War does not.
Trophy hunting can be quite time-consuming and Sony decided to have the trophy list of this game be shared with the PlayStation 5 version. Players who own both versions of the game won’t have to retrace their steps and double dip to unlock a trophy which is quite convenient.

Sony gave all the bells and whistles through the latest overlay system for players on PC to sync up with the PlayStation Network. Perhaps this could be the first of many more first-party games that will be ported to PC with the new shared trophy system but some players had hoped the feature was implemented sooner.
Despite having a terrible start on Steam and the number of refunds that were sent out because of Sony’s mandate to integrate the PlayStation Network, it still went on to become the best-selling PlayStation port on PC. The publisher has learned nothing from the Helldivers 2 controversy and doubled down on that benefitted Legends, the multiplayer component and is said to be available on launch day.
The efforts of players to unlock trophies for both platforms will be saved immensely and it will be convenient for others to boot up either version and wrap up any unfinished business to unlock trophies. Perhaps this game is being used as the debut of the system that will be carried over to future ports.
God of War Should Take Notes From the PC Port of Ghost of Tsushima
![Maybe it is not too late to give God of War the same features Ghost of Tsushima had.](https://fwmedia.fandomwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/19000818/1ae39e74df74871ebbe2d7687d830562-1024x576.jpg)
The 2018 soft-reboot of the beloved franchise may be more popular but it didn’t have the same features. It is unlikely that the game will receive the same support, mainly because it is still the PlayStation 4 version, and Santa Monica Studios didn’t work on a remaster for the PlayStation 5.
Transferring data is a different conversation entirely. It would be far more convenient for players to move saved data akin to the transition from PS4 to PS5 and the trophies will automatically pop once booted. Sony managed to shorten the gap between PC and PS5 players which is impressive.
Players can check their progression through the overlay system that will feature all the information related to the game and their accounts. Maybe Sony can find a way to update the first few ported games to take advantage of this system.
This new update will be a sigh of relief for trophy hunters not having to do everything twice. There is a whole discussion still going on with the recent controversies but it is hard to deny the benefits of a shared trophy list.
Maybe it’s not too late to give God of War and other PlayStation ports the same features that Ghost of Tsushima had. What are your thoughts about trophy integration? Let us know in the comments section below!
