Vincent D’Onofrio made a name for himself for his portrayal of Kingpin in Netflix’s Daredevil show, where many believed he was perfect for the role. He came back in Hawkeye as well as in Echo and will also return for Daredevil: Born Again.

While speaking with ComicBook.com, Vincent D’Onofrio expressed his commitment to continue playing Kingpin for Marvel Studios as long as they want him to. Additionally, he shared his desire for a What If…? episode exploring a Fisk story, drawing inspiration from Joaquin Phoenix’s approach in 2019’s Joker. D’Onofrio expressed enthusiasm for the potential of such a project.

I would love to do, like a, What If…? kind of Fisk story. I would just like to explore him in a, outside of the usual teaming up of villain and superhero. I’d like to see a truly more realistic version, kind of like what they did with the Joker … A more interior approach, and you know, 10 times darker than anything we’ve done with him before. You know, exploring that would be really interesting.”

Vincent D’Onofrio portraying his role as Kingpin inspired by Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker would certainly be a very interesting prospect that fans might genuinely enjoy, should it ever happen.
