Although the fans would love to see the star put in his tactical vest and dish out some justice on organized crime, which just so happens to be Wilson Fisk, a.k.a Kingpin’s domain, his MO might just be the thing that makes Fisk untouchable. Seeing his anti-vigilante stance on the world, Kingpin might become the Mayor of New York he stated in Echo’s post-credit scenes.

While Charlie Cox may have made several appearances on the silver screen as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen already, his most recent being in the miniseries Echo, Jon Bernthal‘s The Punisher seems to be the core component of the machinery missing from the action. But with the recent development in the last episode of the aforementioned show, it seems like he too will be joining the fray, although, it may just get worse in the upcoming series.

In the post-credit scenes of Echo, we witness Fisk showing his intentions to run for Mayor of New York in the future, which will be perfect for Frank Castle to cut down the head of the serpent known as organized crime once and for all with The Kingpin at the helm. But the return of the Punisher could also be a blessing in disguise for The Kingpin since he can use the public sentiment about vigilantes and heroes in general to benefit his own agenda of anti-vigilantism.

Thus, Castle may become collateral damage and a scapegoat for Fisk to gain power over New York City, and become the ultimate power in the world of crime in the MCU.
