Hiroyuki Sanada has been around in the entertainment industry for a long, long time, gaining prominence for his incredible action prowess. The supremely talented actor, singer, and martial artist broke into the main scene of Hollywood with movies like The Last Samurai, The Wolverine, and John Wick: Chapter 4. Yet it is his recent miniseries Shōgun, that has brought him immense fame and acclaim across the world.
Starring as Yoshii Toranaga, the actor has been brilliant in the series, making fans desperate to see more of him. And while we don’t know what the actor’s future project will be, fans have been demanding that the actor be cast in James Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi after Sanada recently said he is a big Star Wars fan.

There might not be enough words to praise an actor and martial artist as brilliant as Hiroyuki Sanada. Known primarily for his stints within the action genre, Sanada has been working as an actor since the age of five. While he has gone on to essay several prominent roles in Japanese cinema, the actor’s first brush with international fame came with The Last Samurai.
And since then, it has been an amazing ride with several notable roles coming his way. However, it has been his recent appearance in the miniseries Shōgun, which has once again put him in the spotlight (see Vanity Fair).
While fans are desperate to witness Sanada’s talents once again, the actor’s future projects are unknown. In a recent interview with Variety, the actor was asked which universe would he like to enter next— Star Wars or Marvel,
“All of them. Especially Star Wars, cause I’m a big fan.”
Also describing the Star Wars world as amazing, Sanada’s revelation was welcomed by fans, many of whom expressed that he should be cast in James Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi.
Fans Want Hiroyuki Sanada to Star in Dawn of the Jedi
The Star Wars world is constantly growing and expanding, with several projects coming up. One of these many projects is James Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi, which is supposed to be tracing the origins of the Star Wars force and will be set 25,000 years before the present timelines.
While the script is in development (see The Hollywood Reporter) and no cast decided yet, fans want Hiroyuki Sanada to star in the film. A well-known action star and trained in martial arts, the actor’s presence would be a big advantage for the universe. Furthermore, he has already worked with Mangold in The Wolverine, making him the perfect choice for the movie.

With the cast of Dawn of the Jedi uncertain, fans seem to be eagerly supporting Hiroyuki Sanada’s potential casting in the movie. With his impressive martial arts skills and ability to bring depth and emotion to his roles, Sanada would surely be an amazing choice if he is ever cast in a Star Wars film.
