God of War Ragnarok was a fitting sequel to an epic reboot of one of the most iconic PlayStation video game series ever. The game was a timed exclusive for PlayStation 4 and 5, released for the two consoles in 2020.
However, 2024’s PlayStation State of Play saw the game coming to PC in September 2024, and the game got a special launch trailer to market the same. One of the many features teased in the trailer is what makes PC Gaming a lot more immersive than Gaming on console.
God of War Ragnarok PC Confirms Ultra-Wide Support, Something That Even Elden Ring Doesn’t Have

God of War Ragnarok’s PC port gave hope to members of the PC Master Race of titles like Spider-Man 2, eventually ending up on the platform, too. At the same time, it isn’t known if and when the latter will come to PC; the former’s port has already been confirmed to feature excellent offerings for PC gamers.
Firstly, PC Gamers will have unlocked Frame Rates for the game, supporting the latest upscaling technologies like NVIDIA’s DLSS 3, AMD’s FSR 3.1, and Intel XeSS. But among all these new additions, perhaps the one that will make the most significant difference is Super Ultra-wide monitor support for the game’s PC port.
Since the game has stunning visuals like its predecessor, an ultra-wide display will bring the best out of the title on PC and make for an even more gripping experience while playing. As expected, the upcoming port will feature the game’s free expansion, Valhalla, released recently.
Despite the fantastic additions the game will have just for PC gamers, it makes sense to wonder if the Helldivers 2 controversy will be extended to the game’s PC port. If it does, it may rain at the PC Gamers’ party.
God of War Ragnarok PC Has Mandatory PSN ID Linking Listed on Steam
![gowr Will Ragnarok be able to escape the controversy which engulfed titles like Helldivers 2.](https://fwmedia.fandomwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/28061730/Thor-1-1024x576.jpg)
God of War Ragnarok may fall prey to the same controversy as Helldivers 2. The game’s product page on Steam has already gone live at the time of writing. A notice that PC gamers would find jarring confirms mandatory PSN-IDs, which must be linked with Steam.
This is what the notice says on the game’s product page:
PlayStation Network Account required, subject to the PlayStation Terms of Services and User Agreement
The last PlayStation exclusive to be ported to PC, Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut, only required the PSN account linkage for online legends mode, which was still acceptable. The account linkage doesn’t make sense for Ragnarok, a single-player experience.
What do you think? Will it pose a problem for the game’s reception on PC? We would love to know your thoughts in the comments below.
