Gojo Satoru, the most loved character from Jujutsu Kaisen has been dead for quite some time now and fans still are hoping for his imminent return to the series. Gojo’s death was a dark turn of events for Jujutsu Kaisen as he was believed to be the only possible hope for the sorcerer’s win against the King of Curses Sukuna and Kenjaku.

Ever since his death fans have struggled to come to terms with his passing and are always formulating theories to explain why he should come back. While some believe that the reverse cursed technique could bring him back, some think that Gojo just like his previous almost-death experience will come back stronger than ever.

While nothing is confirmed as of this moment, there is a chance the fan-favorite character may return to the series because of a blurred image shown during an interview with Junya Fukuda. However, his return may not be what Jujutsu Kaisen fans have expected. This is because of what is going on with Megumi.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead

Gojo Satoru’s Blurred Image Hinted At His Return to Jujutsu Kaisen

On January 13, 2024, the Japanese television program ‘One Piece Variety: Become the Pirate King TV‘ included a broadcast in which the reporters paid a visit to the editing department of Shonen Jump. They happened to run across an editor in the office who was working on the most recent chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen.

The editor’s was none other than Junya Fukuda. Fukuda stated that he was reviewing the Chapter 249 drafts. Even though the broadcast’s computer screen was distorted, speculations regarding Gojo’s reappearance persisted. The editor’s hazy screen caught the attention of fans more, especially the panel’s outline.

There is no denying that, despite being blurry, the image strongly resembled Gojo Satoru. The blurry photo became popular on X(Formerly Twitter), sparking speculation about Gojo’s possible comeback. However, his comeback right now does not fit into the storyline at all. The only way Gojo can return to the series might be in a memory.

Gojo Satoru’s Return May Not Be Liked By Fans

While the speculations may be true about Gojo coming back to the series, they may not be entirely true. There is a high chance that Gojo might return to the series in the form of a flashback or a memory which may help another character who is on the verge of death. This character is none other than Megumi Fushiguro.

The recent chapters showed Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu trying to save Megumi from the grasp of Sukuna. Although they are working hard, they might need some help from Megumi too. However, Megumi’s soul has almost been crushed by Sukuna and he might not have the power to confront the King of Curses.

Therefore, Gojo Satoru, his beloved teacher’s memory or flashback could very well work as a motivation to make him strong enough to overcome Sukuna. While this could be one of the most emotional moments of the series, it won’t be liked by Gojo’s fans who have been waiting for his return in Jujutsu Kaisen.

You can watch Jujutsu Kaisen on Crunchyroll.
