Back on November 10th, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was officially released, and many gamers were over the moon as they jumped onto the game to try out the new campaign, multiplayer, and zombie experience.

One of these players was none other than Chet Faliszek, who was part of the teams that worked on Half-Life 2, Portal, Portal 2, and Left 4 Dead. After playing Modern Warfare 3, Faliszek released a YouTube reaction video regarding a particular quote that is used in the game upon your death, which has taken him by surprise.

What Quote Is Faliszek Reacting To, and Why Is It So Surprising That It Has Been Included in Modern Warfare 3?

Over the years, it has been a common feature within a Call Of Duty game that when the player dies in the campaign, there will be a quote on screen. Even though this doesn’t appear in every Call Of Duty game, it is a known feature within the game franchise.

These quotes have made their return in Modern Warfare 3, but one such quote has been added to the game, which Faliszek believes is a little out of place, and for good reason. The quote in question is from civil rights activist Rosa Parks and, for many reasons, has no place in a shooter game.

Knowing what must be done does away with fear.

– Rosa Parks

Usually, these death quotes tend to be inspiring quotes from a war perspective, for example, Winston Churchill, which makes it so unusual for Modern Warfare 3 to include Rosa Parks and a quote that clearly has no part in war.

During Falisnek’s YouTube video, he describes the use of this quote as “exploitative” and “gross,” as it is just Modern Warfare 3 using a great quote from a civil rights activity in hopes of bringing attention to a brilliant woman, but instead becomes the opposite.

For many people, seeing Rosa Parks used in such a way to help promote war by misusing a quote of hers is incredibly insulting and borders on the line of complete and utter disrespect, and this has caught a lot of attention, especially after Falisnek’s video has been published.

What Are the Reactions From the Gaming Community Regarding This Death Quote?

Modern Warfare 3 takes another hit as Chet Falisnek comments on a gross death quote.
Modern Warfare 3 receives even more backlash for its poor usage of quotes from civil rights activist Rosa Parks.

For many reasons, the gaming community has been taken aback by this death quote being included in Modern Warfare 3. Since its release, Modern Warfare 3 has already received a lot of negative reviews and comments from gamers, just down to its gameplay, but the longer the game is released, the more issues are being found that are angering more players.

So far, there have been a lot of complaints aimed at Modern Warfare 3, as there are even some gamers who have been asking for the removal of this quote, as it is being used to promote shooting people in the face.

Some gamers have even taken to the comments on Falisnek’s video to say things like “What were they thinking!?” in response to this quote being included within the game while showing their disappointment with Sledgehammer Games and Infinity Ward for its inclusion.

At the moment, there has been no response from Sledgehammer Games or Infinity Ward for the inclusion of this quote, and it is unlikely that there will be any comment. However, Falisnek will continue to play Modern Warfare 3 and call it out on issues just like this over the coming weeks.

Unfortunately for many gamers who have been playing Modern Warfare 3 and have given it negative reviews, this is most likely the last nail in the coffin, as players are already leaving the game behind and will continue to do so if the state of the game continues as it has.
