The gaming community has high hopes for GTA 6 and expects it to be the flashiest video game of all time and they will be investing in a console that would offer the best experience. Industry leaders kicked the current generation with a bang by providing different options for players with unique preferences.

Sony introduced two variations of the PlayStation 5; one version with an optical disc drive and another without but both machines have the same performance. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the current Xbox models and the cheaper price tag on the digital console may not be the best option for modern AAA games.

Rockstar Games has made a name for itself after consistently releasing great games over the years, and the community is waiting for arguably its biggest project yet. The game developers were rumored to be working on other projects alongside GTA 6 with Meta, a VR version of GTA: San Andreas but was put on hold indefinitely as the studio is focusing on the upcoming sequel.

The world has waited for the next major Grand Theft Auto for a decade, and fans have yet to decide on which platform this game should be played. Experts from Digital Foundry claimed that the Series S may hold back the game and keep it locked at 720p quality or even lower.

It is worth noting that these experts claim that the upcoming game will also struggle to achieve a high frame rate and resolution on an unannounced console, a problem that has yet to exist. Regardless, fans expect modern consoles to provide a decent and great experience but some fans are skeptical about Microsoft’s weaker entry-level machine getting the job done.

Quality and resolution matter the most during this console generation. For the casual player, it is a metric or a gauging system as to whether a game is worthy of the next-gen moniker which is silly. Rockstar Games spent enough time working on the game to optimize it for the hardware today; unfortunately, not all options are up to standard.

The Series S is a terrific option for players ready to leave behind physical media and transition to the digital age of gaming; unfortunately, the modest specs will likely give out. The console comes without an optical disc drive and can run games at a targetted 1080p, 1440p, upscale to 4K.

The Xbox Series S May Not Be the Best Place to Play Future Games Anymore

The gaming community is leaning towards waiting on the rumored Pro model of the PlayStation 5 after recent leaks suggest that the hardware will feature cutting-edge technology that is not even present on high-end gaming PCs. The Series S will likely be disregarded as a viable gaming option.

Rockstar Games was able to accomplish wonders with the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for GTA 5, it would be unwise to dismiss the idea of the studio releasing a game with an unacceptable performance.

Players with the console are doing way better than PC players since there is no word of a PC port yet. Players may want to reconsider their options when the time comes. The price tag on the Series S is convincing; however, there are some sacrifices.

Quality gaming comes at a cost. Unfortunately, the Series S hardware couldn’t keep up. Where will you be playing GTA 6? Let us know in the comments section below!
