Rockstar Games has set the standards for everything a perfect open-world sandbox game needs for it to be a commercial success which is greatly evident in their Grand Theft Auto franchise, most commonly known as GTA, the game series is also used as a timeline for the generational leaps of technology used in their games, but some might say an older title called GTA 4 is still the best.

Legacy titles are always fun to dive back into, and with recent rumors suggesting Rockstar Games’ partnership with a company with the expertise of porting older games to modern consoles, fans may be in for a trip down memory lane with the help of Implicit Conversions. However, this news is not for everyone as there are still fans demanding a remaster of the beloved GTA 4, and it is not among the potential games that are getting ported.

Fans Want GTA 4 More Than Older Rockstar Games Titles

Fans are furious that older games are getting PS5 ports rather than remastering GTA 4 that is still in high demand.

Rockstar Games seems to be leaning towards the preservation of their legacy games and plans on using them as entry games for the PS Plus Premium category, while all this is a noble gesture of protecting the core of what Rockstar Games did with GTA, not everyone is pleased with the fact that there is no word for a GTA 4 remaster of any sort.

The reach of GTA 4 is unbelievable, despite being graphically inferior to its successor, GTA 5, people still prefer that game over anything else Rockstar Games has put out since then. It only goes to show how well crafted it was for its time with all the technological limitations that it had.

The Grand Theft Auto franchise has continued to elevate the series in each title, and with the release of the highly anticipated GTA 6 being scheduled for next year 2025, hopefully, it will give players something else to look forward to. Graphics is a key factor and the studios always manage to make it better than it ever looked in previous titles with the use of their in-house proprietary engine known as the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine, or RAGE for short.

Why Won’t Rockstar Games Give Fans A GTA 4 Remaster When They Did It For Red Dead Redemption

Red Dead Redemption got the remaster treatment while GTA 4 is still collecting dust in the basement of Rockstar Games.

While there are a few remasters that are just pure corporate greed, there are games that deserve it and fans are more than willing to pay full price for the experience and technological improvements alone.

Red Dead Redemption is now playable on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and even the Nintendo Switch, while the Xbox supports backward compatibility to launch the native version in an enhanced format.

Rockstar Games is naturally selective of which games they are willing to enhance for the modern generation, perhaps they don’t see the need for a GTA 4 remaster because it is already perfect the way it is and fans are in agreement with the quality but they only wish for it to be even better to keep up with current-gen titles.

Maybe down the road, there might be a remaster to surprise fans like they did with Red Dead Redemption, and given the demand, it could be a matter of when, and not if. What are your thoughts about remasters? Let us know in the comments section!
