Fans may call Max crazy for canceling one of the best animated sci-fi shows of 2023, Scavengers Reign, after its first season. However, the streamer has made one possibility for the series to continue with a second season. Max has made a non-exclusive deal with Netflix to stream the show in the US, UK, Ireland, and New Zealand. And if the show proves to be a success at Netflix, Scavengers Reign might get picked for a Season 2 at its new home.
The fans of the series are doing everything in their capacity to keep the series alive as they took to social media to vehemently promote the series, urging everyone to watch it on Netflix. Hopefully, fans could get to see more of the visually stunning show.
Scavengers Reign Gets A Second Chance At Netflix
Joseph Bennett and Charles Huettner’s Scavengers Reign is a visually stunning series that explores the aftermath of a spacecraft disaster. The handful of survivors of the incident end up in the alien world of Vesta Minor. The creators of the show did a fantastic job in creating a truly beautiful yet mysterious alien world with Vesta Minor.
The show was an immediate critical success with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. Somehow, the critical success wasn’t enough for Max to it’s running the show, and the streamer announced its cancelation in May (via Deadline). However, in a rare move, Max may not have killed the hopes for the series entirely.
According to Variety, Scavengers Reign Season 1 will begin streaming on Netflix beginning on May 31. While the show would still be available on Max, the new summer home for the series could also take it up for another season, provided the series hits the numbers. Fans are definitely not going to waste this second chance at reviving the beautiful show.
The producers of the show, Green Street Pictures, are beyond thrilled at this new development. In a statement to Variety, they shared their gratitude to the fans and to Netflix for a wider reach. They shared:

According to critics, the series delivers many moments of “whoa!” throughout its run. The critics shared that audiences shouldn’t watch the series for the plot but rather for the beautifully rendered alien landscapes.
Fans Are On A Mission To Get Everyone To Watch Scavengers Reign On Netflix

These fans were sure that if they got enough viewers for the series on Netflix, the streaming platform would take up the visual spectacle for another season.
