Yuki Kaji Channels His Inner Eren Jaeger

After the interview, Kaji shared a tweet on X(Twitter) about how he got the chance to portray Eren’s thoughts in the NHK interview. He also shared how Isayama convinced him to do so. He said:

“Naturally, the person who understands the work and the characters better than anyone else is none other than the original author, Isayama-sensei. When I asked him why he came up with the idea to write in such a situation, he answered that he wanted to blur the line between work and reality (modern-day) and that he should do so. We received a response saying, “I want Mr. Kaji, who has played Eren for 10 years, to express who he thinks he is. I would like to see something that incorporates elements of Mr. Kaji himself.” I did.”
