Sadly, even the claws are not enough to prey on the Oscar nominations. Robbed of even a single Oscar nomination, The Iron Claw can relate to it. An inspiring story of the real-life Von Erich brothers, The Iron Claw became fans’ favorite without a doubt. Released on December 22, 2023, the movie is an ambitious and forceful account of the top-gear wrestlers of the early 1980s.

The movie has already been nominated for the National Board of Review Award for Best Ensemble. However, the actors and the crew seem to be unhappy because of not getting the most prestigious award which they, as well as their fans, think that they rightfully deserved.

After attending the premiere of the movie, actor John Cena wrote on X

“Incredibly proud of [Zac Efron] for an outstanding performance in [A24’s The Iron Claw]. Thank you for doing the work to help introduce a new audience to one of our industry’s most important families.”

However, all these achievements couldn’t pacify the hearts of the movie’s team and the fans. Fans strongly agree that it was completely tragic that the movie couldn’t grab a single Oscar nomination. With everything set in the right place under the sun, fans find it hard to believe that the movie still wasn’t enough for the voters.

The nomination list was announced on 23rd January 2024 by actors Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid. Unfortunately, no one mentioned the name of The Iron Claw while reading out the names of the nominees.

Fans from around the world are pretty confident that the movie was one of the rightful candidates to feature in the Oscar nomination list. It is a matter of utter disappointment that such a movie has not been acknowledged by the ones sitting at the top. One of the X users wrote:

“The Iron Claw not getting a single nomination is going in the Hall of Fame of dumb fucking decisions made by the Academy.”

Some other fans have pointed out a few reasons behind The Iron Claw not making it into the list of nominees. Their theory says that the movie was released late and rarely did anyone see it during the time of voting.
