Harrison Ford Embodied Han Solo At The Golden Globes
Lily Gladstone recently gave an interview with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she spoke about her film with Martin Scorsese and her experience at the Golden Globes. The actress won the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture—Drama, after this was her first nomination. While this would certainly have been one of the greatest nights of her life, the actress also talked about what it was like for her to be seated near Harrison Ford. Interestingly enough, the actress mentioned that Ford was especially chivalrous during this interaction.
“He was the best,” Gladstone said. “When I needed to go to the bathroom, he got up Han Solo-style and ran up to the camera guy, ‘Where’s the bathroom? What’s the order? When is she up?’”
She elaborated on this, stating that whenever she would have to use the washroom, the actor was extremely helpful to her. Comparing his behavior to that of his iconic Star Wars character, Han Solo, she mentioned that he would go up to the cameramen and ask them to help Gladstone out. This would have been a dream come true for anyone who was a fan of the franchise, and it would seem that Gladstone is one such person.
Lily Gladstone Became an Actor Because of Star Wars
During this interview, Lily Gladstone also revealed that she was a massive fan of Star Wars growing up. Interestingly enough, one of her biggest dreams was to be an Ewok. When she learned the unfortunate news that they were not real, she was so dedicated that she wanted to become one of the actors who would play an Ewok in the franchise.
“I told him that ‘Return of the Jedi’ was the reason that I wanted to act. And he’s like, ‘Oh yeah, me too.’”
Many years later, the actress was seated next to one of the central characters of the universe and got the opportunity to tell him just how much she loved the franchise. Gladstone told Jimmy Fallon that when she mentioned to Harrison Ford that his film, Return of the Jedi, was what got her into the acting profession, the actor joked that that was the case for him as well.
