JK Rowling’s Harry Potter films and novels still captivate audiences and readers all around the world, with its magical story about the Boy Who Lived and his combat with the Dark Lord. But sadly, although fans keep returning to Hogwarts clinging to Harry Potter, the adventures of the Golden Trio came to an end with Deathly Hallows.
But Harry Potter has just been the tip of the iceberg we call the Wizarding World, which fortunately did not come crashing down with the Battle of Hogwarts. Therefore, we still have so much more to discover in the depths of this universe that JK Rowling created so passionately. Not just the Fantastic Beasts spinoffs, we have five more ideas that could be a treat for fans to explore, in the form of TV shows.

1. Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin – Hogwarts Origin
In regards to the Wizarding World, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft, itself holds a great legacy that could turn into a potential storyline for future adaptations. From the stories about the house ghosts, Peeves the poltergeist, enchanting architecture, and most importantly the founders of the school, this narrative could easily serve as a complex origin story to follow.
Focusing majorly on the two greatest founders Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin, especially since Gryffindor and Slytherin were the focus houses in Harry Potter, a spinoff show could boast this narrative. Showcasing the natural conflict that happened between Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin, thanks to the latter’s villainous nature and decision to hide a Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets, the spinoff could turn into an elongated TV show with lots to explore and serve.
2. The Marauders
Ever since the Harry Potter films showed the Marauders map and hinted at the curious four founders of the group, it has been the most demanded spin-off idea from fans. Focusing on James “Prongs” Potter, Sirius “Padfoot” Black, Peter “Wormtail” Pettigrew, and Remus “Moony” Lupin, who created the map to track the movements of human and ghostly inhabitants, using the Homonculous Charm, the spinoff could explore a series centered around The Marauders.
This idea could also explore how the Marauders became friends, all the mess they created, their treatment of Snape, and the romantic association between James and Lily. This could offer a glimpse into Harry’s parents and their young age.
3. The Goblin Rebellion
Although the Harry Potter movies showed a population of goblins and elves serving the Wizarding World, they never truly explored their side of the story. Although Hermione Granger fought for the welfare of house elves, the goblins were almost portrayed as notorious creatures. But exploring their side of the story could give us a glimpse into the atrocities they faced which led them to start The Goblin Rebellion of 1752.
This particular logline could show how the goblins fought against discrimination and prejudice towards their kind. It would also give us a glimpse of the Minister for Magic back in those days and how they handled the whole thing.
4. Voldemort Origin
The Dark Lord has been a truly crucial part of the Wizarding World, just like Gellert Grindelwald who was brought to the spotlight in the Fantastic Beasts spinoff. But somehow, while focusing on the good over evil, the Harry Potter films and spin-offs fail to narrate the origin story of the bad guys. Take it for Voldemort, we have only learned about Tom Riddle’s past through flashbacks and his diary.
There’s so much more to his story than those mere flashbacks. Learning about his mother Merope Gaunt who died after giving birth, which eventually led Tom Riddle to the Wool’s Orphanage, where he wreaked havoc with his magical skills, and eventually his meeting with Dumbledore that led him to Hogwarts, Voldemort’s origin story could serve fans’ demands.
5. The First Wizarding War – Making of the Order of the Phoenix
The Harry Potter movies ended on a crucial note with the Second Wizarding War, heartbreak, loss of lives, and eventual death of the Dark Lord. But what’s more important is the First Wizarding War that witnessed the rise of Voldemort and his minions leading to the formation of the Order of the Phoenix in 1971 by Albus Dumbledore.
This origin story of Order of the Phoenix which included Harry, Ron, Neville, and several other’s parents to oppose the Dark Lord could serve as a major idea for a spinoff show. This would not only give a glimpse into how Harry’s parents along with the others tackled Voldemort but also showcase how Severus Snape turned into a double agent and eventually give us an idea of how the Dark Lord created his Horcruxes, one of which was Harry Potter himself.
