Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3 official teaser is full of clues and easter eggs for fans to dissect, but there is one that many might have totally missed, and it might involve the actor’s wife, Blake Lively.
For months, speculations surrounding the actress’ possible feature as Lady Deadpool have been circulating on the Internet, and it is likely true given Reynolds’ latest cryptic Instagram post. The trailer also confirmed the movie’s official title: Deadpool & Wolverine.
Lady Deadpool Is Rumored To Have A Cameo In Deadpool 3
The official teaser for Deadpool 3 dropped on Sunday at the Super Bowl with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman teaming up as Deadpool and Wolverine for the first time in years. After the trailer’s debut, Reynolds shared on Instagram a photo of himself while asking fans if they had seen the teaser. Interestingly, he asked, “Also has anyone seen my wife?”
Some fans took this as a joke about Blake Lively attending the Super Bowl in Las Vegas with Taylor Swift. She has been spotted on television with the pop star. Meanwhile, curious fans took this as a hint that Reynolds could be teasing his wife’s cameo in Deadpool 3.
A previous report from industry insider Daniel RPK (via Patreon) claimed that Earth-3010’s Lady Deadpool, aka Wanda Wilson, will appear as a variant in Deadpool 3 and that she will “look exactly like she does in the comics.”
Initially, fans thought it was going to be Taylor Swift, but the singer is now rumored to be playing Dazzler. A fan-favorite choice for Lady Deadpool is Reynolds’ wife. So far, there has been no confirmation that Lively will star in Deadpool 3, but the actress might be keeping this a huge secret.
Similarly, in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it scene from the teaser, Lady Deadpool’s handgun weapon was spotted. Note that Deadpool uses a different type of pistol, so the difference is very noticeable.
It would be a missed opportunity if Deadpool 3 didn’t have Lady Deadpool, so these small hints that Reynolds and the trailer itself are providing only heighten the excitement of Marvel fans.
Apart from Lady Deadpool, the movie will also feature an avalanche of rumored cameos from other X-Men characters, such as Professor X, Magneto, Gambit, Cyclops, Storm, and Jean Grey.
Deadpool 3 Will Save The MCU
Deadpool 3 is the only feature film from Marvel Studios to be released this year as the company plans to reduce its content and focus more on creating high-quality projects. Nevertheless, the famed R-rated movie is expected to shake up the MCU and get fans out of the superhero fatigue slump that has been plaguing them since the pandemic.
In fact, Argylle director Matthew Vaughn claimed in a recent BroBible podcast that Deadpool 3 will rescue the MCU.
“The Marvel universe is about to have a jolt, and it’s going to bring that body back to life. I think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are about to save the whole Marvel universe.”
Deadpool & Wolverine will arrive in theaters on July 26, 2024.
