Jumper and long-time Star Wars actor Hayden Christensen reportedly returning for the second season of the Disney+ show Ahsoka. Christensen appeared in the first season of the hit show as Anakin Skywalker alongside Rosario Dawson, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and co.
The actor previously revealed that he was grateful for the opportunity to play the iconic character in the series and he would very much like to return. Now, as the recent report suggests, the showrunners are keen on bringing Christensen back in the forthcoming season.
Hayden Christensen Is Returning For Ahsoka Season 2
Before the first season based on the titular Star War character Ahsoka, there was a huge buzz creating astounding hype for the show. Fans were in awe seeing several iconic characters in the show including Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker. Fans and critics hailed the 2023 series and after the engrossing success, Disney renewed the show for the second season.
According to insider Daniel Richtman via Patreon, Christensen is returning to the show as Anakin Skywalker. The return of the fan-favorite character in the series has served a great purpose for the journey of Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano. Also, bringing Anakin Skywalker to the show was lived up to the expectations of fans. “You know, as I was figuring out the story for Ahsoka,” the show’s creator Dave Filoni said in a promotional video on the Star Wars YouTube channel. “I just really thought, ‘Well, there’s an opportunity.’ I could bring Anakin and Ahsoka together. It’s just awesome.” he added. Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker appeared in episodes 4 and 5 as he reunited with his Jedi apprentice Ahsoka Tano.
Hayden Christensen Is Open To Playing His Star Wars Character Again
Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker is one of the most important characters in the Star Wars franchise. Anakin Skywalker-turned-Darth Vader actor played a Force Ghost at the end of Ahsoka. “They told me this time,” Christensen told EW of his role in the Disney+ show. And “I got to know what I was shooting when I was shooting it,” he added. The actor also revealed that he is open to playing the Dark Lord of the Sith again.
“I would love to get to do more, and I’d love to get to continue with Star Wars and we’ll see. I don’t know what the future holds, and if such an opportunity presents itself, I’ll be there with a big smile on my face. And if it doesn’t, I feel really grateful for getting to come back and getting to do the work that I did in both Obi-Wan and Ahsoka.”
For fans, seeing the actor again playing his Star Wars character was astonishing as the legacy of the actor carried forward with his return.
