Henry Cavill’s much-awaited Marvel debut has been the talk of the town for months now, and ever since his exit from two of the biggest media franchises – Netflix’s The Witcher and DCEU’s Superman – the actor has never lost supporters; in fact, he gained more MCU fans.
Rumors have it that the British actor might play Captain Britain, Hyperion, Doctor Doom, and Cyclops. Interestingly, the pulse of the crowd says they do not wish to see Cavill transform into a specific X-Men character.

A well-known industry insider, MyTimeToShineHello, once revealed that Henry Cavill reportedly accepted an MCU role that is not Doctor Doom. As per MCU News and Updates, “There’s a strong possibility he has been cast as one of the lead X-men Cyclops or Wolverine.”

In a more recent post, the scooper revealed: “Henry Cavill’s MCU role is going to be a shock to some.” This statement further ignited fans’ curiosity as to the actor’s potential debut role in the superhero franchise.
In the midst of campaigning their character choices for Cavill on social media, many chose to express their disinterest in seeing the 40-year-old star portray Scott Summers or Cyclops. Here’s what people are saying:

Scott Summers is one of the founding members of the X-Men, and he has the ability to emit powerful beams of light. The character requires a special visor to cover his eyes at all times to avoid inadvertently hurting other mutants.
The Fox movies never did justice to Cyclops. He is known as one of the primary leaders of the X-Men yet that was never hinted at or translated on the screen. The role of the protagonist was given to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. In the second X-Men installment, he spent a lot of time off-screen, and in The Last Stand, he was killed by his supposed lover, Jean Grey.
The disservice done by Fox to Cyclops has affected fans that they would not want Cavill to be attached to the role.
Henry Cavill Reveals His Dream MCU Role
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about his possible Marvel role, Henry Cavill stated he does not want any part that’s already been portrayed on the big screen.
“I’m never going to say a Marvel character that is already being played by someone else because everyone’s doing such an amazing job.”
He also expressed enthusiasm over starring in action and superhero movies for as long as he can, proving that his joining the MCU will always be an option.
“I’m very happy to keep doing movies that use action as a form of storytelling, and I have no particular desire to say, ‘I just want to do drama now.’ I enjoy being in the best shape of my life, year after year, despite the injuries. I want to be pushed so I can get better. I don’t want to sit down.”
In the same interview, he particularly mentioned Captain Britain as the role he wants to play in the future.
