“Johnny is a good guitarist and in a way he would have been happiest doing that, playing side of stage in a band and not having to deal with the level of attention he gets. He just happens to be a really good actor. He has never seen a single one of his movies.”

I didn’t see it … But the film did pretty well, apparently. And they wanted to keep going, making more. And I was fine to do that,” the actor said in the court, talking about his initial days as an actor while testifying in his $50 million defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

“It’s not like you become that person, but if you know that character to the degree that I did – because he was not what the writers wrote, so they really weren’t able to write for him… Once you know the character better than the writers, that’s when you have to be true to the character and add your words.”

Depp added that he came to acting by accident.

“I was no means to be an actor … But the fact that these people were going to pay me a ludicrous amount of money … It was $12,800 per week. I had never seen that kind of dough in my life.”

With such distinct traits, Depp joins the likes of Meryl Streep, Jared Leto, Joaquin Phoenix, Javier Bardem, and Reese Witherspoon, who make a habit of avoiding their films.
