As Christopher Nolan’s 2023 blockbuster Oppenheimer is leading with the highest Oscar nods, the movie is expected to bag the most wins at the 96th Academy Awards. Oscar nominees Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, and Robert Downey Jr explained how they have stood in concord for SAG-AFTRA strikers.

As the Hollywood strikes started, Oppenheimer stars Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, and Robert Downey Jr were at the London premiere of the movie. However, the stars have left the theater supporting the strikes. It was a great gesture, appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Blunt, Murphy, and Downey Jr. explained what happened at the screening. “In true Irish fashion, I went to the bar straight away,” Murphy said. “We went to the bar in solidarity,” Blunt added.

“I think a few of us went even this one went which normally I have to say when Downey goes to a party afterwards like you will do this thing what do you say when you Proclaim that you’re about to leave you say guys we’re going in T-minus… And then he just vaporizes he leaves so fast.”

Adding more to the story, the actor added, “We stayed till 4:00 AM.” Murphy joined the conversation stating that it “was a good night.” The support from the actors has been hailed by fans when the news of the stars broke. Regardless, they had a good time despite leaving the movie halfway.

Jimmy Kimmel asked the cast about where they had filmed the movie. While recounting, Murphy revealed, “It was all around we shot a lot in New Mexico around Los Alamos where the actual Trinity test happened.” And then they were in Princeton and Los Angeles. Later Kimmel asked the stars if they stayed together while filming the movie. “We did,” Blunt recalled.

“The first section was it what was the area called […] and we stayed in this, um, hotel that was a bit scary. I mean every penny is reserved for the screen in a Chris Nolan movie. So I stayed it we stayed it kind of was like a cell block of little cabins and I definitely pushed my suitcase against the door. And like Matt Damon was and Josh Hartnett and Dane DeHaan and I said like if you hear me scream I need all of you to come running.”

Of course, she was safe and sound and did not test if her co-stars would come rushing to her aid. Oppenheimer is one of the most celebrated Christopher Nolan movies with 13 Oscar nods and several other accolades.
