However, new updates through a source have revealed that filing for divorce was the “last resort,” for the 34-year-old singer after multiple failed attempts to save his marriage.
Joe Jonas Did Not Want to Break His Family
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner first got together after their mutual friends tried to set them up in 2016. While it did not work at first, they soon started seeing each other. After a year, the couple announced their engagement and got married in May 2019 in Las Vegas before getting married again in France in June of the same year.
The two share two children and have been a fan favorite for the past years. However, the couple has decided to split after four years of marriage, as the singer has recently filed for divorce from the X-Men star. Sources close to the couple have shared that it was the best thing he could have done for his daughters.
“Divorce was a last resort for Joe. He never wanted to break up his family,” sources told Page Six before adding, “But he had to take what he felt was the best course of action for his girls.” They revealed that the couple had been going through a lot lately and had “many disagreements.”
“An unhappy home isn’t a home, and the truth is that he and Sophie were going through it this year,” sources shared. Things escalated so much recently that Jonas gave up after trying “all options to salvage the marriage.” Reports also claimed that divorce was not a surprise for people around them, as Turner and Jonas had been living separate lives for months.

Their varied lifestyle is also being termed as one of the reasons behind their split, as sources claimed that the 27-year-old actress “likes to party,” unlike the pop star who “likes to stay at home.” According to Page Six, the singer has said in his filing that their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
The couple has a prenup and is reportedly working out other things, such as the custody of their daughters, who have been traveling with Jonas for the last few months while he’s been on tour, and Turner has been working in the UK.
