In the latest episode, Hart had the charismatic Will Smith as his guest. A new clip shows the two talented actors entering an amusing discussion about Tom Cruise’s press strategy while sparking memories of the Jack Reacher actor’s peculiar habit that unnerved Kevin Hart.
How Did Tom Cruise Make Kevin Hart Uncomfortable?
As the conversation flowed, Will Smith playfully shared his aspirations to outdo Cruise‘s promotional tactics, to which Kevin Hart chimed in, humorously remarking that the Mission Impossible actor is “so f**king competitive.”
However, the real punchline emerged when Hart recalled Cruise’s tendency to be a “close talker,” catching him off guard during one of their encounters. With a mix of respect and humor, Hart shared with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor:
“I said it respectfully to Tom because he scared me when he first did it.”
Smith agreed with the Fatherhood actor and both actors playfully dived into a role-playing act, with Hart delivering an uncanny impression of the Top Gun: Maverick star.
Will Smith Offers an Explanation and a Posture Trick to Kevin Hart
As the banter continued, Will Smith also tried to provide an insight into the 61-year-old actor’s intentions. The Men In Black actor explained to Kevin Hart that Cruise simply wants people to understand and connect with his words on a profound level, hence his intense eye-to-eye conversations:
“He just wants you to understand what he says. He just wants you to feel what he’s talking about.”
To deal with such an encounter, Smith humorously shared his own trick, suggesting that he would subtly lean back, try to laugh, and cross his arms. A clever trick indeed, but little did they know that their hilarious exchange would become viral and both actors will have to wait for the Jerry Maguire actor’s reaction.
