Ever since John Wick brought Keanu Reeves back into the mainstream media, his career has continued achieving new heights. Now that he’s seemingly done with the action franchise, or so we think, he’s venturing into the world of voice acting.
Earlier this year, the actor was confirmed to play Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Now, fans will hear the Canadian star portray the role in the latest trailer from Paramount Pictures.
Keanu Reeves Showcases His Voice Acting In Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Trailer
The newest trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has just dropped and fans are extremely hyped hearing Keanu Reeves’ voice as Shadow. He is basically the antagonist in the movie, first introduced in 2001’s Sonic Adventure 2 as Sonic’s look-a-like, but edgier and darker.
The hybrid franchise emerged as a success when the first live-action installment premiered in 2020. It continued the streak of box office victory with its sequel released in 2022. Helmed by Jeff Fowler, the third installment will attempt to repeat the same win, especially now that they have Reeves as the film’s main villain.
Following his stint in the John Wick franchise, the 59-year-old actor continues to prove that he is always destined for stardom. He is loved in the action genre, now he’s even more anticipated by fans as he dives again in the world of voice acting.
This is not his first rodeo when it comes to lending his vocals to characters. His work credits over the past years include Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, BRZRKR Volume Two, DC League of Super-Pets, Toy Story 4, Quantum is Calling, Keanu, Anyone Can Quantum, The Animatrix and The Animatrix: Kid’s Story, Enter the Matrix, and Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventures.

Transitioning from a hitman to a hedgehog may have been challenging, but that’s why Reeves is an acting chameleon. He isn’t afraid to explore other genres and formats unlike some of his fellow A-listers who continue to stick to the same type of movies, such as Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
All of them are successful in their careers and continue to remain bankable actors; however, there’s always something new in Reeves’ works that leaves fans in awe, not to mention he’s a very likable celebrity who has been dubbed as ‘Internet boyfriend’ for his random acts of kindness.
