However, he might not be the only actor with such thoughtful gestures toward his crew. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently shared that the Die Hard star added money to the film crews’ cash giveaways to ensure that they had some extra cash by the weekends while working on the 1998 film Armageddon.

Bruce Willis’ Heartfelt Gestures on the Set of Armageddon

Bruce Willis starred alongside Ben Affleck and Liv Tyler in Michael Bay’s 1998 film Armageddon. The film focuses on a team of oil drillers who are sent to space to stop an asteroid on a collision course with Earth. Jerry Bruckheimer recently recalled working with Willis on the sci-fi action film.

He shared that the Glass star would regularly participate in the cash giveaways for the crew and would add a substantial amount of money to the pot to ensure that the crew members received additional cash prizes.

“They’d have drawings, and he’d throw a lot of money in the hat, and the crew members would always take away some nice extra cash at the end of the week, whoever won.”

Bruckheimer also described him as a “giving guy” and a “good friend.” Speaking to People, he said, “Bruce is such a good guy,” while expressing admiration for his kindness and generosity towards the crew during the production.

Armageddon proved to be a blockbuster success, making over $553 million worldwide. Willis announced his retirement from acting after his aphasia diagnosis, later revealed to be caused by frontotemporal dementia in February 2023.

He shared how Willis’ family has been taking great care of the actor. “He has a very loving family,” he said before adding, “They’re doing the best they can.” The filmmaker has been supportive of the Pulp Fiction star and has also shared that they have shared a very close relationship.

“I will always think of him as a big brother and remember how much he protected me,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in an earlier interview. Willis recently celebrated his 69th Birthday with his family sharing touching tributes on social media in his honor.

“Happy Birthday my love. You are the gift that keeps giving,” his wife, Emma Heming Willis, said in an Instagram post. His ex-wife Demi Moore and his daughters  Rumer Willis and Scout Willis also shared heartfelt messages for The Last Boy Scout star.
