When Helldivers 2 launched its new warbond recently, fans were in general pretty impressed by the line-up of weapons it brought. Helldivers 2 welcomed the brand new Premium Warbond known as Democratic Detonation, on April 11, 2024.
Just like the previous warbonds in the game, the latest Premium Warbond featured new weapons, boosters, and armor pieces. While most of the contents of the warbond were well-received, a few of them were criticized too. One such weapon that attracted a lot of flak from players was the BR-14 Adjudicator.
Many believed the Adjudicator to be basically unusable, as they went on to label this rifle “trash” and “garbage.”
What is the BR-14 Adjudicator in Helldivers 2?
Unlike the BR in its name, which suggests it is a battle rifle, the BR-14 Adjudicator is actually a Marksman Rifle that was released on April 11th, 2024 as part of the Democratic Detonation Warbond. The rifle costs 20 medals to acquire and is available on page one of the warbond.
The official in-game description does not reveal much about the weapon, except that it is effective against large groups of enemies. The description reads,
“An accurate, armor-penetrating rifle, the BR-14 Adjudicator delivers righteous judgment to medium-sized enemies, though its restrictive magazine limits its effectiveness against large groups.”
The stats of BR-14 Adjudicator are:
- Damage: 80
- Capacity: 25
- Recoil: 50
- Fire rate: 550
- Weapon traits: Medium penetrating
The default of this marksman rifle is a single-shot mode similar to the Diligence Counter Sniper, however, its stats are much lower than Diligence. It has a rounded body with a shorter barrel that looks similar to an assault rifle. Additionally, the optional full-auto mode further gives the idea that it can be used as an assault rifle.
Players are loving BR-14 Adjudicator after using it
Although players trashed the rifle earlier, now after using it, several players have reported how impressive it is and that it ain’t all that bad. It has high damage, and high recoil as compared to other automatic weaponry available in Helldivers 2. Additionally, players believe that its medium penetration would have been really awesome against bots, however, it can be good against bugs as well.
A user on Reddit also posted their opinion saying just how underrated the rifle actually is. They wrote,
“The gun is genuinely good. It isn’t the best in the game, and it’s not perfect, but it IS good. It has a fast fire rate, high damage for a primary with full auto, and can do long-range shots if you need to. It’s more of a battle rifle or even an assault rifle if anything, not really a DMR. If they were to buff it, I think it just needs one or two extra mags since you go through ammo pretty fast. Maybe a little less recoil too.”
They added that, unlike the initial reception, the gun is actually pretty balanced and absolutely usable. It is also not the worst gun in the game as some people think.
