It has been a busy week for Helldivers 2 as the Automatons were seemingly defeated and removed from the galaxy, along with their immediate retaliation and takeover of Cyberstan. And along with this new chaotic situation, players have always been given the means to fight back.
Now, thanks to a bit of generosity from Game Master, Joel, players have access to a brand-new warbond and even a rather surprising addition of new ship upgrades that players can acquire to enhance their stratagems and counter this new assault from the automatons.
The Automatons Are Back, But the Helldivers 2 Devs Gave Us More Equipment for the Fight
Gamers have been working hard to take out the Automatons over the recent weeks in Helldivers 2, and after they were finally wiped from the map, or at least we thought, now they have come back. But luckily we have a new explosively amazing warbond for players to acquire that will give them the edge in this second coming.
Along with this new warbond, players also received a set of ship upgrades that they can purchase to improve many different aspects of their gameplay, whether they need them or not. Depending on the ship upgrades you select, there will be plenty of benefits to enjoy.

Currently, there have only been 6 different ship upgrades within this update, and these are:
- Atmospheric Monitoring – reduces the overall spread of orbital HE barrage stratagems
- XXL Weapons Bay – provides an extra bomb for eagle airstrikes once deployed
- Superior Packing Methodology – strengthens the resupply stratagem so that it provides ammo to heavy stratagem weapons
- Enhanced Combustion – improves fire damage for all related stratagems
- Circuit expansion – provides electric-based stratagems and weapons a boost by adding one extra arc to one additional target
- Blast Absorption – makes sentries tougher by being able to take 50% less explosive damage
Gamers Will Be Taking Full Advantage of These New Ship Upgrades
Whether you are a fan of these upgrades or not, they will eventually become a massive part of the meta within the game. They will provide players with the opportunity to create even more chaotic builds that will ultimately help bring liberty to the rest of the galaxy.
Sadly, these ship upgrades aren’t what we were expecting. However, it is a sign that Game Master Joel is looking to help when it comes to survival, rather than just bringing in new enemy types for players to suffer with.
Thankfully, with the new warbond, we are beginning to get back on equal ground with the enemy factions in Helldivers 2. Still, all it takes is one surprise that could easily put us back on the losing side. Eventually, we will have to choose which front we will accept losing, the Automatons, the Terminids, or even a third faction that many gamers feel is coming.
