So far, 2024 has been a major year for surprise hits in the gaming industry, as titles like Palworld and Helldivers 2 take the community by storm. Each of these has been massively well received, and gamers around the world are logging in each day to continue playing both like it’s their job.

However, we may start seeing a slight decline in both of these games as the craze eventually begins to die down, and players focus on other new titles that are releasing over the next few months. But for now, both of these titles are still going strong.

Helldivers 2 Has Had a Rather Small Drop in Players (traitors), but the Sales Continue to Rise

Helldivers 2 is still popular, just not as popular as Palworld.

Since its initial release, Helldivers 2 has been an incredibly popular game, with players around the world continuously logging in to keep the fight going against the enemies of liberty and democracy. But according to some recent player counts, there are some who are beginning to leave the fight, but not as many as you’d think.

According to a recent player stat, Helldivers 2 has dropped roughly 4% of its player count over the past two weeks, but what makes this so interesting is the fact that even though the count has dropped by that amount, the sales of Helldivers 2 have continued to increase.

This means that as the game is losing players who have been active since its release, it is slowly gaining new users who are looking to join the fight. Even with its popularity, Helldivers 2 still doesn’t have the potential to be another Palworld, but it does have the ability to push past it if the developers keep up the good work.

Helldivers 2 May Be Losing Players, but It Is Still Doing Better Than Palworld in Terms of Retention

Even though Palworld has broken many records, it still hasn't stopped the game from losing players.
Even though Palworld has broken many records, it still hasn’t stopped the game from losing players.

Even though both Palworld and Helldivers 2 are very different games in entirely different genres, they have both taken the gaming community by storm. But even though Helldivers 2 has done a fantastic job at keeping up with Palworld, it still hasn’t managed to get the same player count.

At the moment, Palworld still has the highest all-time peak player count of over 2 million players, whereas Helldivers 2 has only managed to hit around 450K. An interesting similarity between the two games is the fact that they both have pretty much the same number of concurrent players at around 100K.

This means, as of this writing, Palworld has dropped from over 2 million players to 100K, whereas Helldivers 2 has only dropped from 450K to 100K.

Since Helldivers is staying strong at the same level as Palworld, we can only assume Helldivers 2 will continue to grow as a “live” game, but Palworld will drop players until it brings out more content in the future.
