The arrival of Helldivers 2 has not only made the third-person shooter community happy, but it has also made a huge impact on the relevance of co-op games. Due to this, the player count keeps rising, but the servers keep struggling to hold everything together in one place.
Of course, Arrowhead Game Studios is doing its best to make these problems go away. But this process has kept the team up and running, and even though things may take extra work at the moment, the success of the game has been inspiring for everyone involved.
Helldivers 2 Will Have to Keep Up with Players’ Demands for a Seamless Experience
At the time of writing, it’s possible that you might have issues connecting to servers in Helldivers 2. There are almost 300,000 players in-game right now, who want to have a great experience. Unfortunately, the developers may take some time to keep demand and supply in check, given how the servers may be overloading.
In this light, CEO and Creative Director Johan Pilestedt shared his sentiments on Twitter. It looks like the game’s success is well-received by the team, even though things may need some extra work at the moment. However, looking past all the little hiccups, Helldivers 2 seems to have a bright future ahead.

I am completely exhausted by the success. So is the team, many, many late nights, on-calls, emergency meetings, discussions around server capacity, shards, capacity units, CPU utilization, login rates and CCU.
Tired, but very, very pleased.
Only time will tell how the devs are able to keep up with the rising demand for the ideal Helldivers 2 experience, and how the player count continues to stay high. Given the team’s dedication, it doesn’t seem like an unrealistic vision.
With No Clear Roadmap, Helldivers 2 is Just Learning to be Popular
Overnight success and fame for Helldivers 2 may seem out of the ordinary, but we also need to consider all the effort and years that went into making the game. However, the developers are still finding a way to embrace the victory, even if there’s a ton of work yet to be done.
Furthermore, there’s no clear picture as to where Helldivers 2 will really go from here. Are there going to be more maps, skins, loadouts, co-op activities, and so on? Well, it may be best to take an optimistic approach and let the game find its footing in its newfound niche.
After all, not all live service games make it to the end, and only those with a powerful ambition around the quality of gameplay keep standing out.
