This past week hasn’t been very good for Helldivers 2 and Arrowhead Game Studios due to the PlayStation and Steam account-linking mandate from Sony, which caused controversy and a lot of backlash. However, things soon calmed down as Sony took a turn and scrapped the requirement.

Soon after the requirement was no longer necessary, players restored the positive reviews of the game on Steam, and many may have thought that the problems with it had ended. However, the game community has now found something new they’re complaining about.

Helldivers 2 has received multiple updates since its launch that have brought several balance changes. One player took to the r/Helldivers subreddit and complained about the balancing in the game in a post.

User UtherFunBringer compared two shotguns, the SG-225IE Breaker Incendiary and the SG-225SP Breaker Spray&Pray, questioning the community, “How is this balanced?” The SG-225IE Breaker Incendiary is a shotgun that fires incendiary projectiles with limited burst fire and generates heat during use.

The SG-225SP Breaker Spray&Pray is a shotgun that fires birdshot and small pellets and helps clear out small areas filled with enemies. The Helldivers 2 player shared the stats of both weapons, showing their fire rates, damage, and other stats.

SG-225IE Breaker Incendiary has 240 damage with a 300 fire rate, and SG-225SP Breaker Spray&Pray has 192 damage with a 330 fire rate. The player questioned how Arrowhead claims that the game is balanced when one shotgun is dealing more damage as well as fire damage compared to the other, which has an “additional shell in a chamber.”

Several other players have joined in on this and agreed that the gun does not “stack” too well against each other, but they are now worried that the developer might go and nerf the weapon, which has become a fan favorite.

Fans Are Worried Arrowhead Will Now Nerf the Weapon

Fans are also worried that the developer may nerf the weapon.

The Helldivers 2 community has agreed with the OP and has said that one gun is more powerful than another. A user said, “The fire one kills your friends too,” while another added, “The other one doesn’t kill anything.”

However, they are worried that Arrowhead sees everything talked about in the game, and OP complaining about the weapon may not result in it getting nerfed. User VeterinarianTasty404 said, “Cool, now they will nerf the incendiary.”

User Neridity explained a little further, saying that the incendiary shotgun is “carrying the bug front on its back with only 2% of its power,” and players should avoid talking about it, and “nothing needs to change.”

Several fans said that the OP is drawing attention to the gun with the post and should delete it before developers see. Players have said that they have only recently started enjoying the weapon, and the nerf will make them both useless.
