Like any other live-service game, the excitement and enthusiasm for Helldivers 2 has slowly started to die down. Given the recent controversies surrounding the game’s PSN requirements and a lack of content updates that keep a player base thriving, the game needs a lot more than just seasonal updates.
To add fuel to the fire, Warhammer 40K: Special Marine 2 looks to be a promising entry into the third-person shooter genre that might just deliver everything a PvE player needs in a multiplayer game.
Helldivers 2’s Fight for Super Earth Needs a Bit More Push

In a utopian universe, Helldivers 2 is still the perfect live service game. Unfortunately, in the real world, the game is plagued with a lack of interesting content updates and a recently resolved PSN controversy that still affects the game’s reputation.
With the flames having died down a little, Helldivers 2 is slowly starting to pick up pace with how the game shapes its narrative and things players can expect from the game going forward. However, is this enough to sustain the game’s quality in the long run? Only if the game keeps giving players more incentives and missions to focus on.
A player on Reddit (JuanchoPancho51) voiced out how the latest updates in the game have hyped them up for upcoming seasonal changes. These kinds of introductions in the game let players share a vision (and passion) for where Helldivers 2’s universe moves forward in terms of enemy types and weapon changes.
I have to be 100% honest…this new Meridian D-Day campaign has absolutely relit my passion for this game. I never left, but it’s shit like this that makes me stay.

This would (and should) have been enough for the game to maintain strong standards, but it looks like another game is going to challenge the notions of PvE gameplay. Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is going to serve as strong competition for Helldivers 2.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Is Here to Be the Ideal PvE Shooter

Focus Entertainment’s upcoming third-person shooter has more in common with Helldivers 2 than anyone would like to admit. For starters, shooting and blasting through hordes of alien enemies isn’t new to the gaming community, and Space Marine 2 is doing it with style and flair.
Unlike Helldivers 2, this game also includes PvP modes that let player test their mettle against one another. However, PvE fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that none of the PvP factors should be hindering the co-op experience. Rather, it will only add to the fun by being optional.
