Helldivers 2 is showing no signs of slowing down as the developers have more content planned for release. Johan Pilestedt, the CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, took to X to declare that he had been in a meeting with the ‘Democratic Council’ which fans took to mean that new updates are coming to the battlefield soon.
However, one fan went out of their way to show their support for the CEO of Arrowhead by posting an image showing a framed picture of Pilestedt along with a physical copy of Helldivers 2. This incredible tribute was every bit as confusing to Mr. Pilestedt as it was for the rest of us.

Johan Pilestedt and his company Arrowhead Game Studios have been riding a high ever since Helldivers 2 made its debut on consoles. While there were plenty of hiccups along the way, the game has successfully managed to provide players with everything that one can hope for in a game of its genre.

However, while showing support for Johan Pilestedt, one fan might have gone quite overboard with their display of support for the CEO of Arrowhead.
Johan Pilestedt himself reposted it with a caption wondering whether this was flattering or creepy. His repost went viral quickly as it amassed over 10k views and fans took to the comments to dish out their two cents on the post.
The user @cl1978_ themselves put all confusion to bed as they said, “Purely flattering! My Gaming sessions are overseen by the Supreme Democracy Officer himself” with an emoji with sunglasses on. Other fans saw the humor in the situation with one commenting, “At least the photo’s not in a jar“.
Another fan said, “Agreed it’s creepy, he shouldn’t leave the case open. Loose lids sink ships.” This fan referred to the half-ajar lid of the Helldivers 2 case as creepy, clearly agreeing with @cl1978_ that his post was a show of respect to the CEO. But another fan went right to the point saying, “Get him a signed picture lol“. Mr Pilestedt could very well look to this solution and send over an autographed picture of himself to his superfan.
Helldivers 2 Continues To Be the Talk of the Town
With over a month since its release, Helldivers 2 continues to make headlines. Players take to community forums like Reddit to fight on bug-related issues on a regular basis while the developers keep putting out fires as and when they crop up.
The immense popularity of the game had initially taken the development team by surprise as the servers struggled to keep up with the growing player demands. But despite all the issues, the game is still going strong for one simple reason – it is not pay-to-win. Despite a section of fans crying about not having premium weapons so that they can spend money and buy them and flex on others, fans love the equilibrium that all Helldivers have in the game currently.
The studio’s policy to prioritize the gaming experience over lining their pockets has seen immense success as Helldivers 2 is one of the most played games of 2024, beating AAA releases like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
