The popularity of Helldivers 2 has not gone unnoticed by Xbox fans. The game is Sony’s first exclusive to launch on both PlayStation 5 and PC, but Xbox was left out of the party. But that might not be for much longer, as some people are looking to even the playing field.
A group of plucky modders have announced they are working on a Helldivers 2-like project using the Halo forge. It may not be the original game, but better than nothing, right?
Well-Known Modders Promise to Bring Helldivers 2 to Halo
The announcement comes from the famous Forge Falcons handle on X. They have promised to bring the Helldivers 2 experience to Xbox using the Halo Forge. The mod will be coming for Halo Infinite with an Orbital Drop Shock Troopers theme. ODSTs are also referred to as Helljumpers in Halo, so one can see the similarity in the concept.
There of course will be limitations like that, out of game progression etc.
But, the experience Helldivers 2 gives the player is extremely intense and puts you in the action 24/7. With objectives, side objectives and outposts along the way.

Halo fans have already thought that Helldivers 2 may have been slightly inspired by Halo’s Helljumpers due to their manner of jumping into the fray. The tweet from Forge Falcons stated the artwork and features of the mod will be revealed later and invited fans to post their questions as replies to the tweet. The group aims to replicate the intense action present in Helldivers 2, but it remains to be seen if they can capture the charm of the Sony exclusive.
Forge Falcons are known for their beloved Inheritor Battle Royale mod, which they added to Halo Infinite. The mod utilizes a procedurally generated map and even features rotating objectives, much like Helldivers 2. Halo’s Forge editor is pretty detailed, allowing creators to add Covenant and Banished AI should be able to handle the features needed to recreate a convincing Helldivers 2 experience.
Xbox Users Feel the FOMO from Helldivers 2
It’s no secret that even Phil Spencer wishes Helldivers 2 was on Xbox. While he congratulated the game and the team behind it, he also wondered who was benefiting from not having the game on the Xbox platform. In fact, Halo devs had pitched an idea to Xbox for a game very similar to Helldivers 2, but it never made it past the ideation stage.
Helldivers 2 continues to increase its player base with every passing day as well. The game has gotten so popular that it even has imitators trying to scam players by changing their games’ pages to resemble Helldivers 2 at a surprisingly low price point. As the devs at Arrowhead Games continue to improve the title’s performance and online experience, we can expect the player numbers to increase.
We have also gotten some fun stories from the fray with Helldivers 2. Many players take to the subreddit to share their experiences of fighting side by side with amazing, crazy, or even annoying players. The tonality and language used in the game lend themselves to a funny and over-the-top style of communication, making for some great storytelling.
But, do you think Forge Falcons will be able to use Halo Infinite and provide a satisfactory Helldivers 2 experience? Let us know in the comments below!
