Stratagems in Helldivers 2 can offer players a significant advantage in completing missions and Major Orders. The latter is an incredibly important component required to win the galactic war, and any advantage possible should be taken.

However, what is a Helldiver to do when stratagems don’t function at their optimum capabilities? The latest Major Order has highlighted how Arrowhead needs to take another look at an explosive stratagem before making it the central focus of a Major Order.

Dropping Bombs in Helldivers 2 Needs to Have a Greater Impact

Many stratagems in the game allow players to either gain a tactical advantage by holding down the fort in a specific area or clearing out large swathes of enemies with a single strike. The Eagle 500 KG Bomb falls into the latter category, or at least tries to. Sadly, this Helldivers 2 stratagem is not living up to its name, and it may be hindering the war’s progress.

While the moniker of a 500kg explosive might sound impressive, this bomb does not leave people too impressed once it hits. It’s not the first time this Helldivers 2 stratagem has been critiqued by players, but there has been no change to the stratagem. Additionally, the armament was the focus of the latest Major Order, much to the frustration of one Redditor.

The “Get 200 Kills with a 500KG Bomb” Personal Order yesterday was a painful reminder on the bomb needing a far larger damage radius.

Reddit user sirhcx states that the Major Order is another reminder of how the 500KG Bomb’s damage radius needs a buff. With such a payload, one would expect a large impact radius, but that is far from the truth. The poster further adds that the call-in time also takes too long, and the multi-kill potential is similar to that of an Eagle Strike.

It’s an issue that Arrowhead needs to resolve, especially when the Major Order requires 200 kills on a timed task. If the 500 KG Bomb is unable to get at least close to 20 or more kills per drop, it will start to feel like a grind to use.

While the 500 KG Bomb is the latest one to be under scrutiny, it is not the only stratagem players are criticizing. The Superior Packing Methodology upgrade, too, was under fire for a long time, and Twinbeard’s clarifications have not helped change public sentiment, with fans wanting for it to function according to the upgrade description.

While many aspects of the game are being placed under the microscope, many fans also wish to see the studio finally introduce the faction everyone is awaiting: the Illuminate. The new enemy type has been hyped for a long time now, and even the smallest hint has the player base building theories for its arrival.

The account-linking incident was a major bump in the road for the game’s concurrent player count, and Helldivers 2 has not been able to hit the same peak yet. With the issues present in the game, Arrowhead must work toward releasing fixes for the title to ensure fans can have a smooth experience.
