Helldivers 2 player and Reddit user Fozzye18 took to the r/Helldivers subreddit and posted a clip of a player controlling a mech. The video footage shows the player piloting the mech around the map, getting in and out of it, and using a rocket to wipe out enemies.

The player revealed in the comments that they did not bring the mechs into the game, but they joined another player who was “showing new things to enjoy,” including unreleased weapons and features that will soon be available in Helldivers 2.

The player also added that they played with another mech that had a machine gun or rocket but could not use it for long as their game crashed, and it was the last thing they were shown. Fozzye18 also mentioned that they came across players using energy RPGs and NPC Helldivers that can be called by the players for help during missions.

Players are excited to know that it won’t be long before they use mechanical beasts to take on the evil forces. A player said that the mech in the footage looks like the one in the trailer, but another player said that the mech in the video is an EXO 48 and the one in the trailer is an EXO 44 mech.

Helldivers 2: Mechs May Be Coming Sooner Than Expected

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has already teased mechs coming with the next update.
Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has already teased mechs coming with the next update.

Arrowhead Game Studios has previously said that the mechs will be coming to the game, and the “Report for Duty” trailer also showed a mech in action, saying that it would be coming soon after launch. It now seems like the developer is already trying out the mechs.

Fozzye18 said that the player playing with the mechs respawned multiple times with different ones, meaning that players might be getting more than one type of mech. However, it cannot be said how differently the mechs will work in Helldivers 2, as the first game was a top-down shooter.

The developer has also said that bringing mechs, which were a major part of the first game, is its main priority after it’s done straightening out the server issues, and since now they are sorted, it may be working on mechs. Moreover, the situation on Super Earth is getting more intense and dangerous for players, and powerful weapons are the need of the hour, so these beasts might be coming soon.
