Since the title is a PvE shooter, there are various enemy classes, broadly bugs and bots, which are further divided into classes. A new report from the in-game Ministry of Intelligence has confirmed a suspicion that could make things more challenging for Helldivers.

Fans had been wondering if enemies in the game had the potential to evolve and acclimatize to the threat posed by various Helldivers 2 squadrons. Recently, there was suspicion that a previously unknown mutated strain of bugs that had wings and could fly was spotted.

Footage of the flying bug surfaced on social media, and players were left pondering and couldn’t believe their eyes:

Helldivers were waiting for confirmation from higher authorities. Shortly after, Johan Pilestedt, CEO of the studio that developed the title, categorically denied the existence of any such creatures and stated that it was all propaganda and that the leaks were fake.

This was posted on March 12, 2024. Shortly after, in utter diplomatic fashion, Pilestedt took to his X account and contradicted his prior claim. This time, the CEO stated that:

It looks like from now on, all battle-hardened Helldivers would have to pull up their socks and buckle up to face bugs, which would allow them to propel themselves in midair. As expected, game fans reacted to this news after the CEO came ahead to make the latest statement.
