Henry Cavill began his superhero career on screen as part of the most iconic trinity in comic books. Starring alongside Ben Aflleck’s Batman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Cavill’s Superman is a character that a lot of fans swear by even today, after the demise of the DC Extended Universe.

A new rumor suggests that Henry Cavill has signed a deal with Marvel, with the popular consensus being that it will be for the role of Captain Britain. With Reed Richards also coming to the MCU, and Thor looking for a revamp, it seems that a new multiversal trinity could be making its debut ahead of Avengers: Secret Wars, one that has the multiversal might to fight Kang and his army of Variants. If the rumors regarding Captain Britain are true, Henry Cavill could find himself at the center of another iconic superhero trinity.

Marvel is still looking for the faces that will carry the MCU through its next phases, just like Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. This new trinity will also need to be well-versed with the multiverse so that they can collectively take on Kang the Conqueror. Thor, Reed Richards, and Captain Britain are three such characters that have their own multiversal corps, who could form the basis of an army that could fight Kang in multiple realities together.

The new trinity needs to be one that can unite the various factions of the MCU. Captain Britain could round out the mutants and sorcerers side of the MCU, while Reed Richards represents the Fantastic Four and the cosmic side of things. Thor could round out the trinity, being a member of the Avengers and also being a part of the previous iteration of the trinity, with the new one signaling a return to form for the character.

Henry Cavill, Pedro Pascal, and Chris Hemsworth are all heavy hitters, not just in the MCU, but in Hollywood at large. The three actors would be able to carry the franchise if the studio builds up their characters with the diligence due to them.

This new trinity could bring multiversal armies of its own to fight Kang

Kang has been demonstrated as having a host of his variants at his disposal, all of whom are eager to avenge the death of one of their own. It might be a little overwhelming for a single team of heroes to go across the multiverse to fight the conqueror across multiple universes. However, Thor, Captain Britain, and Mister Fantastic, all come with multiversal councils of their own, ones that could come together to fight the Conqueror and his variants across the multiverse

The Thor Corps, Captain Britan Corps, and the Council of Reeds could form multiple versions of the trinity, leading a slew of heroes in each universe to fight and defeat Kang the Conqueror across multiple timelines. Thor 5 could easily introduce the Thor Corp and bring the darker tone that so many fans and Hemsworth himself have been craving for the character, while also introducing fan favorites like Old King Thor and Beta Ray Bill.

Captain Britain Corp is an integral part of Captain Britain’s mythology and could be introduced in his first film itself, or even the third Doctor Strange film since Brian Braddock deals with magical realms like Avalon. Given that there are no less than four Reed Richards in live-action films, the Council of Reeds could be a fun bit of fan service, while also making previous versions of the character relevant to the narrative again.
