According to thunder-crashing reports, it has been noted that Zeus will be the main villain pitted against Hemsworth’s Thor.
Zeus Set to Appear as the Main Villain in Thor 5
The Aussie hunk Chris Hemsworth has been brilliantly playing the role of the Norse God-turned-Avenger Thor, in the MCU, since his debut in 2011. It’s been 13 years, and the character still remains a timeless icon in the hearts of Marvel fans. But now, his journey seems to have reached its end, as the MCU is reportedly planning on releasing the last installment Thor 5, before Avengers: Secret Wars.
According to the scooper account Marvel Updates, it has been noted that Chris Hemsworth’s Thor 5, will be released prior to 2027 since it is reportedly in plans to hit the theatres ahead of Avengers: Secret Wars. But that’s not the ultimate rumored update that’s making fans lose their minds. According to the X account, as they revealed the alleged main villain of Thor 5, it sent fans into a frenzy.
Previously with Thor: Love and Thunder it was believed that the sequel might have set up the ultimate villain for Thor 5. And now, according to rumors, it seems the fourth installment indeed marked Zeus as the main antagonist for Chris Hemsworth’s upcoming sequel. Although Thor’s entry in the Omnipotence City in Love and Thunder, was marked with a comedic tone and a fake Greek accent from Russell Crowe, it perhaps was done to mislead the audience.

Following the rumors from the industry scooper account that noted Zeus to be the next big baddie in Thor 5, it seems Russell Crowe will indeed return and fight against Chris Hemsworth’s Thor. Continuing the rage and revenge story from Love and Thunder, where Thor seemingly killed Zeus with his own lightning bolt, only for the mid-credits to show that Zeus is still alive, Thor 5 will perhaps show Zeus and his famous son Hercules’ mission to defeat Odinson.
Major Updates Surrounding Chris Hemsworth Thor 5
Although fans are majorly hooked on the reports surrounding Zeus being the main antagonist in Thor 5, there have been several other rumored updates surrounding the upcoming installment. While there has been no official confirmation of Russell Crowe reprising the role of Zeus in Thor 5, fans believe he will return, as the rumors hint at Hercules appearing in the upcoming movie.
Since Hercules was Zeus’ son, who was called by his father to avenge his defeat in Thor: Love and Thunder, the character is said to return in Thor 5.
