Just yesterday, Eastwood turned 93, and as a way of celebrating the milestone, his close friend and protégé Arnold Schwarzenegger shared a beautiful memory of them on social media – one legend paying tribute to another.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Honors Clint Eastwood on His 93rd Birthday

On Wednesday, May 31, Clint Eastwood turned 93, an occasion that Arnold Schwarzenegger was sure to celebrate with all his heart. 

Honoring the four-time Oscar winner, Schwarzenegger, 75, posted a picture of him and Eastwood skiing on Instagram, all smiles in the white pallor of a snow-covered mountain. “Happy birthday, Clint! You’ve inspired me, you’ve mentored me, and you’re a wonderful friend,” the action star wrote, honoring his longtime friend. He also went on to hail Eastwood for continuing to make history even at the age of 93 – 

“At 93, you prove that heroes don’t retire – they reload. You’re a legend.”

The retired professional bodybuilder posted the same snapshot back in December 2019 with the two clad in their ski gear ready for an adventure. “Name a more iconic duo. I’ll wait,” Schwarzenegger captioned the photo back then.

Theirs is a golden friendship spanning decades and The Terminator star has always looked up to his pal. While talking to The Hollywood Reporter in 2011, the former Governor of California voiced his admiration for Eastwood and how he intended to walk the same path as his role model in terms of “adapting roles [his age].” Later, in a 2013 interview, Schwarzenegger once again lauded Eastwood, telling Reuters how the Gran Torino star happens to be “a big idol of [his]” and how he’s never stopped learning from him.

Juror #2 – Clint Eastwood Gears Up for His New Film

Age and time won’t stop Eastwood from being an absolute legend as he prepares to helm the forthcoming courtroom drama titled Juror #2. The thriller which will reportedly mark his curtain call, is slated to star X-Men actor Nicholas Hoult and Hereditary‘s Toni Collette.

While no release date has been attached to the upcoming movie yet, it is believed that filming will begin this summer as soon as Nosferatu‘s production is wrapped up, a gothic horror film of which Hoult is a part. Eastwood’s most recent project was a neo-Western drama called Cry Macho which he both led as well as directed, though the film failed to fare well at the box office.

Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger is currently a part of Netflix’s newest action-comedy, FUBAR.
