Despite being popular for his contributions to bodybuilding and acting, many also remember him for his kind and considerate nature as well, despite everyone calling him one of the most competitive individuals they have met in their lives.
One of the individuals that his nature helped out in a big was none other than one of his biggest competitors and bodybuilding legend Tom Platz, most popularly known as The Quadfather for his humongous legs. In a recent episode of fellow bodybuilding icon Dorian Yates on his podcast Shadow Talk, the athlete revealed how the True Lies star changed the image of his career and helped him achieve even greater success in the industry.
Platz said that since Schwarzenegger was focusing more on films at the time, he would direct any clients and other opportunities toward him, which gave his career a huge boost. He said:
“After ’81, Arnold was going into acting more and more…he goes, ‘look I want to have everybody contact you, because I’m going into the movies and films, and I’m busy doing that. Is it okay?’ So I’m like, ‘yeah sure let’s do it.’ They’re like getting 10,000 to show up for the half a day! I’m like ‘holy smokes!”. It was like he opened that door for me…he’s a ruthless kind of guy, but he’s very generous.”
This was only one of the many examples where the star showed why he is so highly revered by everyone he meets and interacts with.
How Was Schwarzenegger So Successful In The Film Industry?
One of the reasons why the star was successful as an actor in the industry yet again has to do with just how amazing and charming a person he was with everyone around him, which opened him up to new opportunities.
