The statement led to many speculations about the much-anticipated sequel. Many believed that the actor may have hinted that the future DC film would not continue under Snyderverse.
The Witcher star once again has sparked a new discussion on the internet. In his recent interview with IGN, Cavill talked about the new CEO and Co-chair of the DC Studios, James Gunn. He said that he has not met Gunn yet, and is looking forward to meeting him.
“I have not met James yet. I’m looking very forward to meeting him. He’s clearly a very-very talented man, and I cannot wait to sit down and have long, long conversations with him,” Henry Cavill said.
Cavill also said that he is excited about future opportunities where they can work together. The statement could mean that the Enola Holmes actor and James Gunn can come together for the production of Man of Steel 2.
The studio has not confirmed anything yet, but fans believe that James Gunn can be a great choice to direct a sequel to the 2013 DC film.
Henry Cavill Says Superman Represents The Best of The Human Soul
As the Night Hunter star has said he wants Superman to be joyful and inspiring. Cavill goes into what he really means by that. Henry Cavill said Superman means so much to so many people. The Sand Castle star then says that what really gets him about the superhero is that he represents the best of the human soul.
“It’s his heart. It’s his heart that makes him so special. And even when he’s going through stuff, he’s still giving to others. He’s still protecting others. He’s the one who will always reach out and always give,” Cavill said.
He further said that it’s a joyful thing, not a mournful weight. The Argylle star then elaborates on how Superman has the gift of giving. He then says he wants the audience to feel fantastic as they finish the movie.
Since his cameo in Black Adam, Henry Cavill has been sparking rumors of returning as Superman in Man of Steel 2. Fans are assuming that the studio may approach Zack Snyder for the sequel. However, it’s still a rumor.
Enola Holmes 2
There is a possibility that Man of Steel becomes James Gunn’s first movie in DCEU after taking up as the CEO of DC Studios. Man of Steel 2 is also expected to be a soft reboot of the 2013 film instead of a direct sequel.
Henry Cavill is currently busy with his upcoming Netflix film, Enola Holmes 2. Cavill plays the role of Sherlock Holmes in the movie alongside Millie Bobby Brown as his sister, Enola Holmes.
