Veteran director Martin Scorsese is known for some of the finest movies out there in Hollywood. From Taxi Driver to The Wolf of Wall Street, Scorsese has created Oscar-winning movies with complex characters and won the hearts of millions of people worldwide.

Making him such an exclusive director, it is no secret that Mads Mikkelsen wants to work with the veteran director. In an interview with Deadline, the Hannibal actor talked about how he wishes dearly to work with Scorsese and revealed that the director has even got his phone number so the hopes are still there!

“I don’t have a little Hamlet in me. [On meeting Scorsese] A few times. He’s wonderful. Absolutely wonderful.”

He further talked about the Taxi Driver incident which he promised himself that he wouldn’t try to do!

“I promised myself not to talk about Taxi Driver. Then, after a couple of beers, I recited the monologue in the film, the whole thing, which I learned when I was, I don’t know, 20-something.”

Mads Mikkelsen revealed that Martin Scorsese had indeed got his phone number so, a future collaboration between the acclaimed actor and director could still be a possibility!

As the interview further continued, the Danish actor revealed that he knew that he was making a fool out of himself in front of Martin Scorsese. Reciting the monologue from Taxi Driver, Mikkelsen concluded the talk on a positive note that Scorsese has his number!

“I knew I was making the biggest fool out of myself, and I’m sure he’s heard it a million times, but I couldn’t help myself. I just love that monologue. He’s got my phone number”

Having a nomination for a BAFTA Award alongside 47 other awards, Mikkelsen has become quite a force to be reckoned with. The actor was last seen in 2023’s The Promised Land which received rave reviews from around the world, Mads Mikkelsen is currently associated with 3 other upcoming projects but none of them are with Martin Scorsese (yet).
