Netflix’s One Piece Live Action has become a massive hit after a couple of weeks of its release. Initially, fans thought it would turn out to be a failure, considering Netflix’s failed venture in the live adaptations of anime. But with Eiichiro Oda’s involvement, the executives had no margin for error, and watching season one’s massive success, Netflix renewed it for another season.

Monkey D. Luffy’s journey to become the King of the Pirates is more difficult than it sounds. He needs to acquire a few loyal allies who would aid them in his journey. On top of that, he cannot fulfill his dream on an empty stomach. For that, he recruited Vinsmoke Sanji to be his crew’s chef. Like the anime, the actors in the live-action are very good friends in real life.

Sanji and Luffy are Training Together for the Upcoming Season

Luffy actor Iñaki Godoy and Sanji actor Taz Skylar are pretty good friends in real life. They often post pictures together on social media. Recently, they attended the Middle East Film and Comic Con, where they were greeted with an interview. It was during the interview that Skylar revealed to the press how Iñaki Godoy was training himself ahead of Netflix’s One Piece Live Action season 2.

Taz Skylar said,

“I trained this morning with Iñaki at the UFC gym [in Abu Dhabi]! Iñaki came with me to a kickboxing session and he’s gotten so good at tricking in between the seasons too! So, because we’re kind of at a level that we’ve maintained, the second season for me is about how much quicker I can be.”

Both the actors are serious about their roles and want to give their best in the second season. Several of Monkey D. Luffy’s attacks involve stretching his limbs. So, practicing kickboxing is a great way to become physically fit and more able for the role. Netflix’s One Piece Live Action season 2 will see the Straw Hat Pirates enter the Grand Line.

Taz Skylar is also Preparing Ahead of One Piece Season 2

Not only Iñaki Godoy but Taz Skylar has also been training ahead of the One Piece Live Action season 2. It was announced a few months back that the second season was under production. Skylar is one of the most important characters of the series since he is not only a fighter but the ship’s chef.

For that reason, he is practicing kickboxing with Iñaki Godoy and also learning to cook the dishes that he needs to prepare during the series. With Tony Tony Chopper most likely to make his live-action debut in season 2, Sanji needs to prepare more dishes since Luffy treats Chopper as the last resort food.

It is great to see the actors giving their all to portray the best versions of the characters from Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus. With the expectations building up for the second season, fans are eagerly waiting to see the result of the Straw Hat Pirates’ training session.
