I don’t want to paint him as the old guy in the tank, that’s not who he is. I mean, he’s on the same level as all of us. He just has a lot of wisdom.”

Brad Pitt diffused a dispute between Shia LaBeouf and Scott Eastwood on Fury sets

Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott Eastwood, played the role of Sergeant Miles in the Second World War-based film Fury. Pitt played the role of tank commander Sergeant Collier, and Shia LaBeouf portrayed tank gunner Boyd Swan. There was a scene when Eastwood entered the tank of LeBeouf and spit in it. The latter star lost his cool and turned volatile towards Eastwood.

Eastwood told Insider,

“I never think your process as an actor should ever hinder how people are treated on set. It should always enhance the production, not take away and put people in a situation where it’s a s****y work environment or you’re rude or people have to be in an uncomfortable situation.”

“We were driving down the road, I’m in the turret, Shia is at the other turret, and Scott is on the back, spitting juice. Shia saw it and felt the same – he was disrespecting our home. So Shia had the same reaction I did and started having some words.”

“I had to get in after the cameras were rolling and explain it to Scotty.”

“The funny thing is, when we got home at the end of the day and read the script, it said Scotty’s character is ‘chewing tobacco and spitting it on the back of the tank’. He was just doing as instructed in the script! So we were the knobs in the end.”

Fury was released in 2014 and grossed $211 million worldwide. It is available for streaming on Starz Apple TV.
