Zack Snyder is a veteran director who has some very iconic movies to his name. From the classic 2009 anti-hero film Watchmen to 2021’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Snyder has done it all, and millions of fans love him for it.
Talking about his son Eli Snyder, the older Snyder couldn’t help but be proud of what his son did while filming Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver. Talking about the second unit of the film, Zack Snyder admitted that his son is a better filmmaker than he ever was!
Zack Snyder Is Proud of His Son!
Snyder is known as a family man even when he is working on the sets of his films. Working alongside Deborah Snyder (his wife) who is the producing partner of his films, the shooting of Rebel Moon was a little different than other films.
In an interview with Forbes Magazine, the interviewer asked Zack Snyder about his son who was speculated to also have directed some things here and there. In his answer, Snyder talked about his son and how he is a good filmmaker and as Zack Snyder puts it “much better than I ever was”.
“My [son] Eli directed the second unit on the movie. He just graduated from AFI and he’s an amazing filmmaker – much better than I ever was, that’s for sure. So yeah, it was an honor to have him working on the movie because he’s really quite talented.”
He further continued,
“It’s amazing. Look it – like I said, my wife is my producer. We never are not working. It’s a circus over at my house – and so, it only made sense to have Eli working on the movie, as well. It’s really natural and I’m so grateful and so lucky to have that experience.”
Although he complimented his son quite a lot, Zack Snyder (being Snyder) also talked about the change in movie culture that people are seeing today. Talking about the movies that have been recently released, Snyder is in awe of the modern filmmakers and what they do with their movies.

With a plethora of movies released in 2023 and 2024, the world of cinema is slowly reviving. From Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon to Dennis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two, the culture of movies is slowly shifting away from superheroes. In his interview with Forbes, Snyder was asked his thoughts about his fellow directors and their movies. Here’s what Snyder had for an answer:
“Yeah, it’s amazing! There’s just this massive output of like really beautiful and incredible movies that I’m excited about everyone that rolls out and what Chris was able to achieve with Oppenheimer – it’s just so fun. I’m excited for Civil War – there’s a lot of cool movies coming out.”
With the upcoming release of Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver, Zack Snyder is quite excited to show the world his latest creation. Rebel Moon – Part One received a rating of 5.6/10 on IMDB and a meager 21% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Rebel Moon: Part 2 will be released on 19 April 2024 on Netflix, and the first part of the franchise is available to stream on the platform.
